Parents Association

The Archbishop Spalding Parents' Association is committed to developing and strengthening the family-school partnership in order to enhance the education of all Spalding students and the school community. Our purpose is to promote the relationship between parents and Archbishop Spalding High School, acting as a forum for communication, school spirit and community awareness.

All Spalding parents are members of the Parents' Association. Dues of $20 per family are paid as part of the Student Services portion of the annual tuition bill.

The Parents Association focuses on two main areas to help fellow parents:

  • We provide speakers on topics that are relevant to parents and encourage all parents to attend
  • Host social events throughout the school year and provide parent volunteers to work these events

The Parent Association will welcome two speakers in the Library/Media Center.  We have a police officer from the Anne Arundel County Police School Safety Unit joining us to discuss keeping our children safe and Dr. Duane Isava will present “Parenting for a Resilient Teen”.  These should be impressive presentations with great information for any of us working or parenting any age child.  Dr. Isava is innovative, experienced and down to earth in his work with children, adolescents and families. There will be presentations from the principal, students and parents regarding the online communication links including Netclassroom, Haiku, the school website, etc.  information will be provided about upcoming events and volunteer opportunities for the 2015-2016 school year.  We welcome all parents who would like to help with our many social events during the school year.  

Volunteer Spot

The Parents Association uses an online site called Volunteer Spot to coordinate our activities during the scholl year.  If you would like to sign up as a general volunteer please click on the following website: If you enter your email address you will be contacted by the Parents Association about upcoming volunteer opportunites.  Volunteer Spot will not provide your email to any outside marketing sites. Two to three weeks before each event your will be contacted to ask for your assistance with an event.  If you sign up for the event you will receive specific instructions about times and needs for the event.  You will be reminded the week before the event when your volunteer.

The goal of the Parents Association is to include as many parents as possible in our events so that the burden does not fall on just a few parents.  We are all busy with the daily demands of our families, work, etc. and are asking for parents to consider serving as a chair or co-chair of just one event.  We would like to pair up an upperclassman parent (Juniors & Senior) with an underclass parent (Freshman & Sophomores) in the hope that the underclass parent will serve as the chair in the next year and mentor a new underclass parent.  Working with the Parents Association is a great way to meet other parents, the faculty and administration of the school.
